Homosassa, Florida – Robert Elmer Kamm, 81, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., March 12, 2023 at HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL.

A native of Aurora, IL, Mr. Kamm was born Aug. 24, 1941 to Elmer and Thelma (Dusell) Kamm, one of four children. Bob, as he was known to many, earned his BS degree in Pharmacy in 1963 from the University of Illinois, Chicago Center Campus and his law degree, Doctorate of Jurisprudence, in 1969 from John Marshall Law School, which is now affiliated with University of Illinois, Chicago Center Campus.

While he was earning his doctorate degree, Bob married the former Nancy G. Kanan on Aug. 29, 1964, his loving wife who survives him. Mr. Kamm was a retired pharmacist and attorney with a specialized practice in the pharmaceutical industry. He also designed and implemented a program at Marion Labs (now Sanofi) that worked with the marketing team and Marion Scientific to approve marketing plans and packaging inserts, as well as advertising and liaison with FDA on the approval of new drugs.

Prior to and after his retirement, he served as the president of the AFPE (American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education). He was particularly proud that he was able to retire at age 52 from the corporate world. However, he continued to be active and taught the pharmacy law class at the University of Florida pharmacy school for a number of years. He also worked as a consultant for various pharmaceutical companies nationwide.

Bob moved from Shawnee, KS, where he had lived for 18 years, to Odessa, FL, where he lived for ten years, and finally moved to Homosassa in 2005.

Baseball was his lifelong passion. He grew up in the Chicago area and loved his Cubs but, unusually, also loved the Cardinals because his father was from the St. Louis area. Later, he was an avid fan and season ticket holder for the KC Royals for many years and was lucky enough to be acquainted with several players. He shared this passion with his family, and they created many wonderful memories together.

After retirement he became an avid golfer and tennis player. He loved to travel and made several trips to Europe and the Caribbean with his wife. He enjoyed reading and collected all of John Grisham’s novels. He also loved model trains, in particularly the “N” gauge train set, and collected a large inventory of train sets.

After moving to Florida Bob’s idea of a perfect day was to go to the beach, relax and work on his tan OR go to a spring training game. He especially enjoyed meeting up with one of the players he knew from the Royals.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kamm was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Jim Kamm of Canandaigua, NY and his elder sister, Carol Ertel of Maple Lake, MN.

In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy G. Kamm of Homosassa, Bob is survived by his children Amy Kamm (husband Laurent Prevot) of Lenexa, KS and Robert C. Kamm (wife Alana Crews) of Alabaster, AL and grandchildren Raffaella Prevot of Lenexa, KS; Eleanor Prevot, currently of Daegu, S. Korea and Bas and Zoe Kamm of Zurich, Switzerland, as well as a brother, Tom Kamm of Ft. Worth, TX. Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. www.wilderfuneral.com

Bushnell, Florida – Harold Spencer Beckwith – September 3,1922 to February 2, 2023

The family of Harold Spencer Beckwith announces his passing on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the age of 100 years, 6 months and 9 days. Harold was born September 24, 1922 in Corunna, Michigan, the son of the local Blacksmith. Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 77 years. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his children James (Denice) Beckwith and Jerry Beckwith (deceased). Harold will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Mellissa (Brian) Tort, Stephanie (Erik) Elliott, Steven Beckwith, Sheri Beckwith and Timothy Beckwith and great grandchildren Samantha, Kaleb and Avri. In addition to the immediate family Harold is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Harold enjoyed a lifetime of being creative. He owned and operated a thriving business at Houghton Lake, Michigan for 12 years, followed by many years with contractors and builders at Houghton Lake and in the Leesburg, Florida area. He also thoroughly enjoyed the craft/art of woodworking with unique and custom home furnishings.

Harold had several opportunities for missions trips through the Work and Witness Program of the Church of the Nazarene, taking him on trips to Nicaragua and Alaska through his son James. His abilities as a welder enabled the construction of several churches. His craft abilities were stretched in the ability to design and build hundreds of wooden communion sets for congregations and pastors. His work in this field enabled communion sets to be placed in 23 countries and several hundred pastors hands in the form of visitation sets. If all of the sets produced were used at one time, over 17,000 individuals could be served the sacraments.

Harold was also known as a person who could maneuver his way through fixing many objects that were considered broken or used up. Words around the house and among friends were often “If it is broke or doesn’t work, give it to Harold, he will get it working again, he can fix anything”.
After a lifetime of giving 110% he is now joined with Lilah, resting with Jesus and enjoying their joy leading him through The Promised Land.

A private Funeral Service in memory of Harold will be held for the family. Arrangements for Harold are being handled by Beyers Funeral Home, 134 North Highway 27/441, Lady Lake, Florida 32159. Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

The villages, Fla – Sandra Dye Jones died just shy of her 86th birthday. In many ways, Sandy was the person for whom the Villages was created. She moved to the Villages in 1995 with the love of her life, her second husband, the late Robert/Bob A. Jones. They lived in three different neighborhoods before settling into their 7th floor apartment at Freedom Pointe. With each move they gathered new friends, golf partners, and were regulars at countless bridge games.

Sandy served our country as a military wife for nearly 30 years while married to her first husband, John Haggerty. She traveled the world and her circle of friends grew with each assignment through her characteristic grace and kindness.

Sandy is survived by her five children and their spouses: Kevin, Sheila, (Paul Housberg), Brian, Eileen (David Williams), and Sean Haggerty, her stepson and his spouse, Michael and Mary Jones and their daughters: Katie Spence (Jeff), Lindsey Gucken (Sean), and Alexandra Danko (Zachary), and seven grandchildren: Sam Deluca, Courtney and Patrick Haggerty, Nathan and Sadie Housberg, Kendal and Charlotte Williams.

We are grateful to the compassionate care and support Sandy received from the residents, workers, administrators and especially the many generous, kind and patient care-givers at Freedom Pointe, Homewood, and Freedom Pointe Place. Thank you also to the team at Cornerstone Hospice, who ensured Sandy’s last days were lived with dignity and compassion.

Sandy’s legacy will live on in the lives of the many people she has touched. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to to the Michael J. Tallahassee, FLorida – Magaline “Madge” Cline Fountain, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home in Tallahassee, Florida.
Madge was born on January 25, 1936, to parents Joseph (J.B.) and Maggie Mitchell Cline in Monroe County, Tennessee, near the town of Englewood.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Robert G. Fountain, son Philip M. Fountain, brothers Wesley and Charles Cline, sister Mildred Brown Thacker, and her very special in-laws Graham and Jewel Fountain.

Madge is survived by her children Molly Fountain Merry, Graham W. Fountain and his wife Felicia Adams Fountain, and grandson Joshua Robert Merry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was especially close with her nephew David Brown, Jr., his wife Robyn, and their two children Sydney and Travis, all of Atlanta, Georgia.

Madge grew up in a Christian home in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. She later moved to Atlanta in her late teens when her father relocated for work. Madge had a love for music and singing throughout her life, and even sang professionally in her twenties as a back-up singer to several country-western musicians. Although having a beautiful voice, Madge’s life would take a different turn while working in hospital administration at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Madge met the love of her life, Emory dental student Bob Fountain, through a blind date. After they married and Bob finished dental school, they settled in his hometown of Crestview, Florida, where she and “Dr. Bob” would operate their dental practice for over 30 years.

While her children were growing up, Madge was a stay-at-home mother, immersing herself in volunteer work for various local charities including the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association. She also activity participated in her children’s school activities, volunteering for the PTA organizations and school band parents’ associations. She was also a member of the Dogwood Garden Club, The Old Spanish Trail Club, the Los Caballeros, and Beta Sigma Phi. Her husband was a former FSU football player and founding member of the FSU Varsity Club, and they spent decades supporting Florida State University and the football program, including serving as founding board members of the Coach Bobby Bowden Football Scholarship at FSU. Madge was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crestview, where she would be found singing in the sanctuary choir and participating in many church activities. But the real love of Madge’s life was spending time with her husband and children while vacationing on Dog Island and the Florida Keys. Although she did not scuba dive like the rest of the family, she became an excellent deck hand and enjoyed her time on the water with her family.

Later in the years, Madge would return to work as office manager for Dr. Bob’s dental practice. It became a new adventure and a high level of enjoyment as she fell in love with the patients and staff who were all part of the Fountain family. When Dr. Bob passed away in December of 1996, Madge moved to Tallahassee to be near her children who were all working in state government. She adapted well, making new friends and enjoying spending time with old classmates from Dr. Bob’s FSU days. Most game weekends would find her at Doak Campbell Stadium for the home football games and visiting with friends in the Varsity Club Skybox. As her health and mobility declined, ballgames and trips down to the Dog Island house became too difficult.

Madge will fondly be remembered as a caring soul who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and to encourage others to be all they could be. The Fountain Family would like to thank the Tallahassee Visiting Angels and the Big Bend Hospice for the love and care they showed our mother.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home Chapel, 436 W. James Lee Blvd, Crestview, Florida 32536. Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee and Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview are in charge of the arrangements. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the Fountain Family, P.O. Box 183, Crestview, Florida 32539.
