Manchester, NH — Lorette Elise Fortier, 89, passed away on January 18, 2019 at the Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester on May 4, 1929, she was the daughter of George A. and Marie (Chauvette) Chalifour. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Transfiguration. 


Lorette was a graduate of St. Marie High School, class of 1946. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and solving crossword puzzles. She loved to spend time with family and friends. 
She worked at Public Service Company of New Hampshire for many years and also worked at Saint Anselm College. 


Lorette Elise Fortier was predeceased by her husband, Herve J. Fortier last year.  Family members include three sons, Richard Fortier and wife Louise of Bedford, Dennis Fortier and wife Diane of Manchester, Marc Fortier and wife Linda of Manchester; one daughter, Diane Fortier and fiancé Mike of New Boston; six grandchildren and spouses; four great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Maurice “Moe” Chalifour of FL; one sister, Pauline Cassidy of Manchester; several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Perron and Jeannette Filteau. 


There are no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 25th at 10 am in Parish of the Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St. Committal prayers will follow in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. 


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
