ARGYLE, NY — Alfred Daniels, 91, of Fort Edward, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Luzerne NY in June of 1926, Al married the love of his life, Rose, on February 10, 1946.

US Army and More..

Alfred Daniels served his country by joining the Army on October 3, 1944. He served in World War II in Central Europe as a Military Policeman and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked for International Paper Mill for 19 years. He and Rose then ran their family owned grocery store the Kenyontown Trading Post in Thurman. He worked for Ford Garage as a mechanic and retired after 19 years. Al loved to spend time outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp in addition to spending time with his family, especially taking his grandchildren to fish for bullheads.

Alfred Daniels was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose; his parents, Beecher and Gladys Daniels; his in-laws, Alta and Fletcher Beadnell, and Gordon Tucker; in addition to his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and John Spraque; his brother-in-law, Daniel Weatherwax; and his sister-in-law, Brenda Beadnell.

Survivors

Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Michael Daniels, and Melody (Brad) Duell; six grandchildren, Angela Mauldin, Michelle (Dain) Whitaker, Michael (Leah) Daniels, Jamie Gonzales, Jennifer Gonzales, and Mark Petrie; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kurstyn (Andrew) Friel, Elizabeth Mauldin, Isabella Mauldin, Reese Mauldin, Christian Whitaker, Chelsey Morrison, Chandler Whitaker, Adam Whitaker, Alexa Pasley, Cody Pasley, Kinsley Daniels, Makenna Daniels, Cameron Petrie, and Lexi Petrie; four great-great grandchildren, Rylee Osborn, Ryleigh Friel, Ryker Friel, and Dawson Brouillard; a sister, Mary Pincheon; a sister-in-law, Ida (Milo) Barlow; two brothers-in-law, Howard (Evie) Tucker as well as John Beadnell; former daughter-in-law, Naomi Johnson; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family thanks all of the Doctors and Nurses at Glens Falls Hospital on T3 and T6 who cared for Al during his recent hospital stays.

Services

Per Al’s request there will be no services. A celebration of Al’s life will be held at the family’s convenience.
